Album Info:Happy New Year, everybody! While I'm listening to the San Jose Sharks-Dallas Stars game, I thought I'd upload some more photos. Here's some shots of my trip to the Wichita Falls Railroad Museum. Located in North Texas (not Kansas), Wichita Falls was part of the Burlington Route, and there were quite a few Chicago, Burlington, & Quincy items in the collection-unusual to see if, like me, you're coming down from Oklahoma, which the CB&Q just barely ran through as it worked its way south. 1 steam engine, a Katy switcher, 4 cabooses, and several coaches make up the collection-you'll see some interior shots as well. Should you ever be in Wichita Falls, the museum only costs $2 to visit and is a must-see during your stay. Enjoy!

Description:  Built in 1906 for the Fort Worth and Denver Railroad, which became a subsidiary of the Burlington Route 2 years later-hence the F.W.D. lettering under the cab but the Burlington Route logo on the tender. It was so good at switching, it was still in service in 1951, even though diesels were starting to take over.

Title:  Missouri Pacific Rio Usumacinta
Description:  In the late 1960s, the car was converted to a work car for maintenance. All but five of the open sections were removed, a lunch counter was added, and the car was painted aluminum. When the museum acquired it in 1990, they repainted it in its Missouri Pacific Eagle Scheme, though it could use some touching up!
